Action against drug peddlers in Mansehra soon: Nazim

MANSEHRA, June 26: The District Nazim of Mansehra, Mohammad Azam Khan Swati, has said the drug smugglers will not be allowed to play havoc with the lives of the young generation.

He was speaking to the participants of a walk organised by a Mansehra-based NGO “WAPSI” in connection with the international day against drug abuse and illicit trafficking here on Wednesday.

The walk which started from the Zafar Park and terminated at the “WAPSI” office on Abbottabad Road was participated by the students of different schools and colleges, activists of NGOs and officials of the education and health department.

The District Naib Nazim, Shahzada Mohammad Gustasap Khan, Tehsil Nazim Mohammad Farooq Khan and the Nazim of the union council Mansehra city No 3, Khalid Javed Khan also spoke to the participants of the walk.

The District Nazim said the district government would cooperate with the non-governmental organisations and utilize all its resources for curbing the menace of drugs.

He also stressed the need of public cooperation with the government agencies for elimination of drug abuse. Mr Swati said the government was doing it’s best to attract the youth towards the positive and constructive activities.

He said schools and colleges of the district had been provided computers and other modern day facilities besides providing youth the opportunities of recreation.

The District Naib Nazim Shahzada Mohammad Gustasap Khan speaking on the occasion said a crackdown would soon be launched against the drug traffickers throughout the district.
