KARACHI: Peaceful solution to Dera Bugti issue sought

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, June 26: The central coordination committee of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement has called for a meaningful dialogue between the government and the tribesman of Dera Bugti over the alleged dispute on gas installations in the area.

In a statement the committee said that the issue should be resolved democratically and peacefully through sincere and meaningful dialogue. The members of the committee mentioned that it was frightening for them to hear that the forces had cordoned off Dera Bugti and preparation were on to attack Dera Bugti.

The statment said severing of telephone lines and other services in Dera Bugti, rendering Nawab Akbar Bugti and his people virtual hostages in their own ancestral land, was highly condemnable.
