KHARTOUM, June 25: The 29th meeting of the Organization of Islamic Conference began on Tuesday here with Sudanese President Omar Beshir alerting the participants to the challenges facing the Islamic world after the Sept 11 suicide attacks on the United States.

“Sudan places all its resources at the disposal of the Islamic world to meet its challenges,” the president told the delegates at the opening ceremony.
