Employment options shrinking

GUJRANWALA, June 25: The government is shrinking employment options by privatizing the institutes at the behest of the World Bank and the IMF.

This was stated by Habib Bank staff workers’ union at a meeting held here on Tuesday.

Munawwar Ahsas Bhatti presided over the meeting.

At a resolution, the participants demanded the process of privatization of institutions should be stopped immediately.

At least 18,000 employees had been working in the Habib Bank, they said, fearing conditions for working would become difficult in case of privatization.
