Kutcha abadi removed from govt list

By Our Correspondent

TOBA TEK SINGH, June 25: A kutcha abadi near the district headquarters, comprising more than 150 houses, has been deleted from the government list after the Auqaf Department, on whose land it is situated, refused to issue the no-objection certificates.

The residents of Ittehad Park will, therefore, not get proprietary rights to the land on Aug 14. The residents claimed that about two dozen of them had already been issued the NOCs.

They said those being denied NOCs had been living in the houses for up to 50 years.

They urged the district and tehsil Nazimeen to contact the Auqaf Department and the kutcha abadis directorate to solve the problem.

UNPAID SALARIES: Junior employees of the Government General Nursing School have not been paid their salaries for the last six months.

Dawn has learnt that they were recruited on contract. The contract, which expired six months ago, has not been extended even after the passage of six months.

SHO CONVICTED: Arrouti police station SHO Usman Khan Lashari was convicted by an anti-corruption special judge. According to prosecution the officer had kept the valuables recovered from robbers while stationed at Jaranwala.

The court had last week refused bail to the accused. The Kamalia DSP then handed him in custody.
