Two boys drown in reservoir

SADIQABAD, June 25: Two boys drowned in a water reservoir in Tibba Qadirabad here on Monday.

Ahsan Firdus and Saqib left their homes about 10am but did not return till evening. Later, their bodies were found in a nearby water reservoir.

Police are investigating.

DIES: Four people, including a woman, died from snake bite in different parts of the district on Tuesday.

Reports said Nabi Bakhsh of Mauza Sialan and Khursheed Ahmad of Chak 124 were irrigating their fields at night when snakes bit them, killing them on the spot.

One Allah Bakhsh was on his way back home on foot when a snake bit him. Bakhsh died instantly.

Azeeman Mai of Sadiqpur died from snake bite when she was going through sugar cane fields.

NO SALARY: Lady health workers have not been paid their salaries for the last nine months.

Due to non-payment of salaries, LHWs and their families are suffering badly.

The affected LHWs have demanded the higher authorities of the Health Department to come to their rescue and order payment of their salaries at the earliest.

KILLED: A deaf and dumb boy was crushed to death by Shalimar Express on Monday.

Returning home after bathing in a canal, Shabbir Ahmad Laghari, 14, was crushed under the wheels of train.
