KARACHI, June 25: The Sindh government, under the Public Sector Development Programme, has set aside Rs69 million for twenty-seven on-going schemes of college education that also include establishment of some new colleges in Karachi.

The on-going schemes include up-gradation of colleges to degree level and establishment of new colleges for both boys and girls.

The schemes are the establishment of a commerce degree college for girls at Malir Colony, a boys’ degree college at Qayoomabad in Korangi, construction of building for Muslim Government Liaquat College, establishment of a boys’ degree college in Razzakabad, government college of education for B.Ed and M.Ed at Darsano Channo, government girls’ degree college in Kaunkar, boys’ degree college in Ibrahim Hyderi, degree college for girls in Liaquatabad Block 5, near KMC Park; construction of building for a women’s college in Ibrahim Hyderi shifted from Korangi 6, construction of premier college, addition and alteration of APWA College for Women in F.B. Area, opening of girls’ degree college in Gulshan-i-Iqbal, establishment of girls’ degree college in Gulzar-i-Hijri Colony, construction of building for Allama Iqbal College, of inter arts and commerce college for boys at Landhi Sector 36-B, opening of science girls’ degree college at Shah Faisal Colony, establishment of girls’ degree college at Landhi in Quaidabad, establishment of degree college for boys/girls on National Stadium Road, establishment of degree college for boys at Surjani Town, establishment of a degree college in Manghopir, establishment of girls’ college in Metroville, SITE; opening of arts/science college for boys at Shireen Jinnah Colony, opening of degree college for women at Mehmoodabad green belt, extension of girls’ college for women on Frere Road, improvement of government college for boys in Lyari and the existing nationalized Nabi Bagh College and up-gradation of government girls Inter college in Lyari to degree level (addition of BSc classes).—PPI
