OKARA, June 24: Tension is increasing as police reinforcements continue to arrive in the military farms.

More than 5,000 Punjab Constabulary personnel have reached Okara. It is feared that large scale arrests would be made in a big operation.

Meanwhile, Punjab PPP former president Rao Sikandar Iqbal and district PPP secretary Ashraf Sohna issued a press release on Monday urging the government to resolve the issue once and for all as hundreds of families were involved in the issue. If they were deprived of land they had been cultivating for generations, they would be forced to starve.

They expressed the fear that more people would be killed if force was used against the tenants.
