RAWALPINDI, June 23: A young man was stabbed to death by his brother in Saddar while a married woman hanged herself in the City police area on Sunday.

Police said Khurshid Ahmed, a resident of Dhoke Arnyal, Chakri Road, lodged an FIR with the Saddar Baruni police saying that all the family members including his brothers Banaris and Shahid had been waiting for diner, when Banaris asked his mother to serve him first. His mother, Jhallan Bibi, instead gave the meal to her younger son Shahid, the complainant said. “Serving meal to Shahid, provoked Banaris who took a knife and stabbed his brother Shahid,” he added.

The injured was taken to the DHQ hospital where he died.

The alleged killer managed to escape from the scene.
