KARACHI, June 23: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s coordination committee has announced that it will support a peaceful sit-in planned by the Jiye Sindh Qaumi Mahaz against construction of the greater Thal canal and for release of its chairman Bashir Qureshi on July 7.

In a statement, the committee said that people of Sindh had rejected the anti-Sindh project, but the establishment was continuing to construct the controversial canal.

The committee said the people of Sindh were being repressed for even demanding for water.
