KARACHI, June 23: The annual elections of the Karachi Union of Journalists were held at the Karachi Press Club on Saturday.

Qamarullah Chuadhry (APP) was elected president, Javed Rafiq (Leader) and Saeed Sarbazi (Business Recorder) vice-presidents, Siraj Ahmed (Jang) treasurer, Rana M. Khalid (Jang) general-secretary, Abdul Quadoos (Amn) and Ajiz Jamali (Kawish) joint secretaries.

The following were elected members of the executive council: Arshad Hussain (freelance), Nizam Siddiqui (Intikhab), Qamar Zaman (Kainat), Saeed Iqbal (Hilal-i-Pakistan), Shabbar Azmi (Amn), Syed Mohammad Askri (Jang) and Syed Raza Hassan (Dawn).

Out of more than 500 voters, 370 cast their vote.
