LAHORE, June 18: Grey mare Silk Route, who was twice beaten in her previous outings, should make amends and win the supporting event when the mid-week Lahore Gymkhana races gets underway at the Racecourse Wednesday.

Silk Route is contesting in the fifth race to be run over the sprinting distance of 800 metres. She lost narrowly on both the occasions, which harmed her reputation. With a good rider in the saddle she should pick up the spoils.

This seven-year-old mare from Blu’s Maid out-of-Anjan Silk Route may face, if any, some challenge from Little Master, Silver Heart and Royal Man.

A card of six events will be decided in the afternoon. All races will be contested over 800 metres. The first race will start at 2.30 pm.
