KARACHI, June 18: Jamiat Ulema-i-Pakistan (Niazi) has launched a campaign to contact different leaders to join political and religious alliances for the general elections scheduled for October.
JUP(N) Secretary-General Hanif Tayyub said on Tuesday that in the first phase, his party’s representatives had met some religious leaders and the response of those Ulema and Mashaikh was positive as they wanted to unite on a platform. Hanif Tayyub has also held preliminary discussions with some religious leaders.
He said a team of JUP leaders was establishing contacts in Punjab.—PPI
