ISLAMABAD, June 16: An allocation of Rs859 million has been made for different ongoing and new development projects of the Capital under the Public Sector Development Programme-2002-2003.

According to the PSDP document released on Saturday, out of the total Rs859 million allocation, Rs632 million will be spent on the ongoing mega projects and Rs227 million on new schemes.

An amount of Rs300 million has been earmarked for the ongoing project of dualization of I.J Principal Road. It will be completed at an estimated cost of Rs932 million, and so far Rs130 million has been spent on it.

An amount of Rs102 million has been earmarked for the renovation and furnishing of the parliament lodges. The total cost of the project is Rs1.255 billion, of which Rs1.153 billion has so far been utilized.

For the improvement of the first three phases of Sewage Treatment Plant and construction of its fourth phase, Rs20 million has been allocated under the PSDP. Foreign aid of Rs80 million will also be spent on the project in the current fiscal year.

Dualization of Islamabad Highway from Gumrah Bridge to Rawat is also one of the ongoing mega projects being executed by the CDA. For this project, Rs97.757 million has been allocated for the current fiscal year.

The project’s total cost is Rs633.520 million and so far 527.563 million has been utilized.

An amount of Rs0.5 million will be spent on construction of an office and accommodation for AGPR in Islamabad. So far, Rs68.858 million has been spent on the project against the total estimated cost of Rs99.827 million.

For additional work on the safety of Simly Dam, Rs22.864 million has been allocated for the current fiscal year. The entire project will cost Rs95.885 million, of which Rs41.059 million has been utilized.

The CDA will get Rs6.318 million for the installation of security equipment at Aiwan-i-Sadr. A sum of Rs13.677 million has so far been spent on the project against its total cost of Rs19.996 million. An amount of Rs2.982 million has been earmarked for additional exhaust fans at government quarters in G-9/2. So far, Rs4.689 million has been spent on the project. The total estimated cost of the project is stated to be Rs7.671 million.

For laying of additional 36-inch diameter water supply pipeline at Simly Dam, Rs15.617 million has been allocated in the PSDP 2002-2003. The total cost of the project is Rs16.167 million against which Rs3.285 million has been spent.

The authority will receive Rs64.335 million for laying of water conduction main pipeline from Shah Allah Ditta reservoir to the respective sectors of Islamabad. The total cost of the project is Rs670.214 million and so far Rs447.474 million has been utilized.

According to the PSDP document, the capital administration will get Rs100 million for the construction of a judicial and administration complex. The total cost of the project is stated to be Rs419 million out of which Rs66.7 million has been utilized.

For the construction of a building at the National Police Academy, H-11, the ICT administration has been earmarked Rs69 million. The project on which Rs126.691 million has been spent will be completed at an estimated cost of Rs362.272 million.

Similarly, Rs10 million has been allocated for water supply and sanitation schemes in Barakahu, Rs0.354 million has been earmarked for monitoring and research purposes, Rs2.611 million will be spent on the establishment of community relation unit in the ICT, Rs4.223 million and Rs0.3 million will be spent on water supply and sanitation schemes in Soan and Shakrial respectively.

An amount of Rs1.838 million will be spent on the construction of a ‘C’ type mosque in police line, H-11, Rs2.5 million on the construction of residences for judicial officers of local courts and Rs5 million on the construction of residences for the staff of sessions court, Islamabad.

A sum of Rs9.550 million has been earmarked for the establishment of fish seed production farms for the expansion of fish culture activities in small and mini dams, Rs1.386 million has been allocated for sheep and goat development in rural areas of Islamabad, Rs0.336 million will be utilized for livestock disease control in the ICT and Rs0.203 million will be spent on the establishment of veterinary diagnostic laboratory in Tarlai.

According to the PSDP document, Rs1 million will be spent on the construction of a basic health unit in Tarnol and Rs1.5 million on the construction of a rural health centre with staff residences and water supply in Barakahu.
