KARACHI, June 14: Former chairman of selectors Hasib Ahsan said Friday that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) should accept Australian Cricket Board’s (ACB) proposal to play the three-Test and One-day International series in Australia.

Australia are to tour Pakistan for one-dayers in August-September and for Tests in October. But the series looks unlikely because of current situation.

Hasib said that under the prevailing circumstances, the ACB offer was ideal and the PCB should accept it.

“Australians are a world class team and it would be better for Pakistan team to play with them at their home ground,” Hasib said.

He, however, opined that the first priority should be to play the series in Pakistan. “But in case the ACB decides not to send its team to Pakistan, the PCB should accept ACB’s proposal.”

Hasib rejected the proposal of rescheduling the series on neutral venues of Sharjah or Morocco or else where. It may be added here that Australia will have the priority to pick the venue if the series in Pakistan is not played because of security reasons.—PPI
