HYDERABAD, June 14: The chairman of the Sindh Taraqqi Passand Party, Dr Qadir Magsi, who is also the Sindh president of Ponam, has severely criticized the alleged discrimination by the Port Qasim authorities against the local population in respect of employment.

He was taking to a delegation of his partymen from Malir, Karachi, who called on him at Taraqqi Passand House here on Friday.

The members of the delegation Shahid Nooh, Ameer Bux Qambrani, Qadir Bux Khoso and others said that the local Sindhi population was being ignored by the PQA in respect of employment.

Dr Magsi said that the local population had left their ancestral homes for the construction of Port Qasim as they believed that they would be given jobs as promised by the federal government.

He said the people had been assured that special quota would be reserved for the local people but now the people from Punjab were being recruited by the Authority.

Dr Magsi called upon the federal government and the Port Qasim Authority to fulfil their promises and warned that no discrimination against the local people would be tolerated.
