Reinstatement demanded

By Our Correspondent

NAWABSHAH, June 13: The National Highway near Shahpur Jehanian, Daulatpur taluka, remained blocked for more than 30 minutes due to a protest of the sacked workers of the Al-Noor Sugar Mills Limited, Shahpur Jehanian.

More than 80 sacked workers of the mill blocked the highway to press for their reinstatement.

The workers were chanting slogans against the management of the mill.

Shahpur Jehanian Union Council Nazim Khalid Arain reached the point and assured them that their problem would be solved and he would talk to the management of the mill.

Two workers, Abdul Rehman Dahri and Abdul Jabbar Channa, fell unconscious on the road due to the scorching heat as the mercury rose to 48 degree Celsius here on Thursday.
