HYDERABAD: JSQM protest enters 4th day

HYDERABAD, June 13: Hunger strike by JSQM activists protesting against the artificial shortage of water in Sindh, construction of greater Thal canal, and continued imprisonment of party chairman Bashir Khan Qureshi, vice chairman Niaz Kalani, and other party activists entered its fourth day on Thursday.

JSSF: A large number of Jeay Sindh Students Federation (JSSF) activists staged a protest demonstration outside the Hyderabad Press Club on Thursday against the shortage of water in the province.

Many of them carried empty pitchers in their hands to indicate the shortage of water.

They demanded the immediate release of Bashir Khan Qureshi, and Niaz Kalani among others.

CRIMINALS HELD: The Hyderabad Region police arrested a number of absconders and criminals on Thursday during their on-going campaign against crime and criminals.

It recovered arms and ammunition from their possession.

In Hyderabad District, police arrested two absconders, a criminal and recovered a pistol and four rounds.

In Dadu District, police arrested a criminal and recovered a pistol and three cartridges.

In Badin District, police arrested four absconders, two criminals, and recovered two pistols and 11 cartridges.

In Sanghar District, police arrested four absconders, three criminals and recovered two pistols, 11 cartridges, and a motorcycle.
