KARACHI: Varsity employees’ attendance checked

KARACHI, June 13: The registrar of Karachi University, on Thursday, conducted surprise checking of the punctuality and attendance of KU employees and told latecomers to review their arrival timings.

He also imposed a fine of one-day salary on 10 employees.

KUTS: The Executive Council, Karachi University Teachers Society, on Thursday, demanded immediate withdrawal of the show-cause notice issued to Dr Rafiq Alam Siddiqui of the Department of Pharmacology.

At an emergent meeting held with the KUTS president, Dr Fahimuddin, in the chair, resolved that the notice issued to Dr Alam was motivated due to his efforts to expose the alleged financial misappropriation by the present varsity administration.

KUTS demanded that the show-cause notice should be immediately withdrawn and further demanded the administration to convene a meeting of the university senate to discuss the budget.

The body also asked the KU administration to hold elections on vacant seats.—PPI
