Youth drowns in Indus

SKARDU, June 6: A 22-year-old man drowned in Indus River on Wednesday late afternoon in Kharmang valley — 50 km from here, sources said.

Mohammad Musharraf resident of Rombukha Kharmang was swimming in the Indus River, when a wave suddenly gripped him and took him away.

Mohammad Musharraf’s body has not been recovered so far.

According to the villagers, a boy Muhammad Azhar had also drowned in the Indus River last year, at the same place, and his body had also not been found.

BODY RECOVERED: Body of Ibrahim, 22, belonging to Talis Town 16 km away from Khaplu recovered from Shyake River near Maracha Town 130km from here.

According to sources, Ibrahim had been missing from the Marcha town for the last two days.
