Slow speed irks Internet users

Published June 7, 2002

SANGHAR, June 6: The Internet users have been complaining about the difficulties in getting connected and the slow speed ever since the Internet service was provided in the district headquarters, Sanghar town, in August 2000.

There are about 600 Internet users who live in Jhol, Khadro, Perumal, Kandiari, Chak No22, Sinjhoro, and other small towns. They complained that except Sanghar town, the connectivity could not be obtained from any of the other towns even if they kept trying for hours.

However, they said that in Sanghar the downloading speed was extremely slow and it would take at least 15 minutes to download a website.

Syed Sibte Hassan, an Internet subscriber, told this correspondent that the Internet Service Provider was kept at Hyderabad and since the distance from there to here was long the Internet did not function properly.
