Published June 5, 2002

KARACHI, June 4: Five heroin addicts were caught in premises of National Stadium Karachi (NSK) Tuesday by security personnel and handed over to volunteers of Edhi Home.

The addicts entered the stadium at night after crossing over boundary walls.

In recent past complaints were reported of disconnecting wires of floodlights of the stadium and disappearance of some other things, after which it was decided to appoint private security guards.

But despite this measure, the addicts still managed to enter the premises of the stadium.

KCCA’s directive

The Karachi City Cricket Association (KCCA) Tuesday directed its affiliated and permitted clubs the transfer of players from one club to another will be allowed after June 30.

The player seeking transfer shall have to apply to Shafiq Kazmi, secretary KCCA registration sub-committee at KCCA office located at National Stadium on prescribed form between June 15 and 30 and accompanied by a fee of Rs 500 alongwith requisite NOC.—PPI
