Screen pictures censored

SEOUL, June 4: World Cup officials decided to censor the television pictures on the stadium screen in the first half of England’s game with Sweden on Sunday because of the reaction of the crowd.

Keith Cooper, communications director of world governing body FIFA, said on Tuesday that officials had changed their policy on showing the whole television feed after 15 minutes of the 1-1 group F draw in Saitama, Japan.

Television replays are usually not shown on big screens in English grounds because of worries they may lead to trouble between rival fans.—Reuters
