KARACHI: Teaching at abandoned school to resume soon

KARACHI, June 3: Teaching at the abandoned primary school in Jehanabad will start from the next academic session, it was learnt officially.
A meeting of the city government education department was informed that the school building in the SITE Town was still incomplete and the education works department had not handed over the physical possession of the building to the education department.
However, the possession of the building had been taken and the primary school would start functioning from the next academic year.
Meanwhile, a press release of the city government’s education department said that
two more mono-technic institutes would start functioning from the next academic session.
The proposed buildings for the institutes were under construction at Baldia Town and Korangi respectively.
An official of the education department said that one block each has been completed at the two technical education centres and the city government has decided to start a one-year diploma course in IT in the premises from the new academic year on a self-finance basis.
Teaching and other staff will be acquired from other schools or be hired for the purpose, while computers and other accessories would be provided by the city government.
After the completion of the two technical institutes, three- year diploma courses for associate engineers and two-year courses would be launched there, he added.
