Premier Oil, Microsoft teams meet governor


KARACHI, June 3: Premier Oil Company Chief Executive Patric Bird along with company’s Adviser Akbar Aziz, and a delegation of Microsoft led by its Managing Director for Middle East Mohammad Khateeb called on Sindh Governor Mohammadmian Soomro at the Governor House here on Monday.

The two delegations discussed with the governor their ongoing projects and future planning in the province.

Representatives of Premier Oil informed the governor that their staff, including foreigners engaged in oil exploration, are busy doing their job. They thanked Mohammadmian Soomro for his interest in creating conducive atmosphere.

The representatives of Microsoft apprised the governor about their programme for continuation of IT projects in Sindh and its expansion.

The Sindh governor informed the delegation that automation in the government offices is being emphasized upon and expected that cooperation between Microsoft and the Sindh government would promote IT technology on sound footings.

He informed both the delegations that to encourage investments, measures have been taken for the provision of appropriate infrastructure, and rules and regulations are being made investment-friendly.—PPI
