Denmark hit by ground bust-up

SEOUL, May 30: Much to the annoyance of Denmark coach Morten Olsen, the training ground bust-up between Jesper Gronkjaer and Stig Tofting continued to be the main topic of conversation around the Danish camp on Thursday.

Olsen said the incident had been blown out of proportion by the media, who were shocked when Gronkjaer had to be separated from Tofting after getting upset at being showered with water and ice by Tofting and his midfield partner Thomas Gravesen.

“It was just children at play,” said Olsen, adding that it was wrong to describe the incident as a “fight.”

Officials also made it clear that Gronkjaer had not hurt his eye in the incident but merely had it washed out with water as it was stinging after being sprayed with a sports drink.—Reuters
