KARACHI: Preparedness of navy

KARACHI, May 27: The chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, Gen Mohammad Aziz Khan, on Sunday visited various Pakistan Navy units at Gwadar and Ormara to review the operational preparedness of the navy to counter any threat from the seaward.

Gen Aziz first arrived at Gwadar and visited PNS Akram, where he witnessed different mobile and static communication installations and anti-air defence arrangements and reviewed their performance.

The chairman of the JCSC then proceeded to Ormara and boarded PNS Tariq, where he attended a briefing on the operational readiness of Pakistan Navy. He was also briefed on the role of Jinnah Naval base with regard to the current situation.

Gen Aziz also went to PNS Ahsan at Ormara, where he was apprised of the logistic support facilities to Pakistan Navy fleet units.

He expressed his full satisfaction over the preparedness of Pakistan Navy to meet any misadventure by the enemy.—APP
