KARACHI, May 25: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Saturday put an unnecessary controversy to rest by saying Dr Aamir Siddique will go to Australia as “Thought Leader”.
A section of the media had created an avoidable controversy by undermining Dr Aamir’s contribution and highlighting the expenditure on his visit.
However, the PCB said it had decided to send five officials alongwith the 14-man squad for the Super Challenge Series-II to be played between June 12 and 19 in Australia.
“The decision had been taken long ago and the criticizm on Aamir Siddique is baseless,” the PCB said.
Mudassar Nazar, Yawar Saeed, Sikandar Bakth and Dr Riaz are the other officials of the team.
The PCB had not announced the team officials for the tour when it named a 14-man squad on Thursday.
