BADIN, May 25: Some villagers of Deh Janjhi taluka have alleged that a local landlord, Brig (retd) Moula Bux Khan, has unleashed a reign of terror against some growers over a land dispute.

Speaking at a press conference here on Friday, Sahib Khan Chandio, Ramzan, Abdul Sattar and Bachal Chandio said that they had 11 acres of Qabooly lands, bearing block No 188/4, 5 to 195/1 in Deh Janjhi, taluka Badin, while Mr Khan received the neighbouring lands, block Nos 188/2, 3 and 105/2, allotted in exchange of defence quota lands.

They alleged that he had created a dispute over boundaries of the two groups of the lands and wanted to usurp the lands of the small growers who had been cultivating the lands for a long time.

They alleged that local administration was under his influence and thus their complaints against him had not been entertained for the last nine years.

They demanded that the Tapedar of the area be transferred, measurement of the lands be carried out and the boundaries of the lands be declared through a team of impartial and honest experts.

They also demanded that they be provided protection.

INQUIRY: On the directives of Sindh health department, an inquiry has been initiated by EDO health, Badin, Dr Muzaffar Abbasi, into the causes of death of two children in the Dando Hospital.

The children reportedly died after being administered spurious injections.
