Villagers stage rally against police
SHIKARPUR, May 25: The residents of Koreja village took out a procession from their village to Garhi Yasin on Saturday against the Garhi Yasin police for not arresting the accused involved in a robbery.
The villagers also held a demonstration outside the Garhi Yasin Press Club.
Speaking on the occasion, Nazir Ahmed, Banho Khan and others demanded the early arrest of the accused nominated in the FIR.
ZAKAT FUNDS: The member of the Provincial Zakat Council, Sindh, Mufti Mohammad Khalid, is arriving here on May 27 in connection with the verification of proposed deserving people who had applied for financial assistance from Zakat funds under the permanent rehabilitation package.
During his short visit, he will preside over a meeting of the Zakat and Ushr committees’ chairmen and officers at the circuit house.
Later, he will visit four talukas Shikarpur, Khanpur, Garhi Yasin and Lakhi.
