MIRPURKHAS, May 25: The health authorities have taken notice of sale of government-owned hepatitis-B vaccines to private medical practitioners and medical stores by some health officials in Mirpurkhas district.
Following the directives of the Sindh health secretary to hold an inquiry into the matter, EDO, health, Mirpurkhas, Dr Ilahi Buksh Soomro, set up a three-member committee to find out facts about this illegal practice.
The committee comprised of Dr Ghulam Ghaus Kaimkhani, medical superintendent of the Kot Ghulam Mohammad Taluka Hospital, Dr Ali Mohammad Mehar and Dr Mohammad Aslam.
Inquiry officer recorded the statement of employee Qaimuddin Mehar, allegedly involved in the sale and purchase of vials of hepatitis-B vaccine, who revealed names of some other employees of the health department.
The inquiry officer has also issued notices to the other employees to record their statements.
WHEAT PROCUREMENT: The food controller of Mirpurkhas has invited the growers to contact the wheat procurement centres set up in different areas of the district for selling wheat.
In a handout issued here on Friday, he said that wheat procurement campaign would continue in the district.
He said that at least 34,000 wheat bags had been procured by the food department in the district.
JI: The secretary general of the Jamaat-i-Islami, Syed Munawwar Hassan, has said that if the rulers stopped helping Kashmir cause and imposed a ban on the jihad fund, it would be the biggest oppression of the history against the Muslims.
He was speaking at a two-day training programme here at Masjid-e-Huda on Friday.
He said that the rulers should learn a lesson from the mistakes of former Pakistani rulers.
He warned that if the rulers did not stop getting dictation from America, the Muslims Ummat and Pakistan would not get any benefit.
He claimed that India was mounting pressure on Pakistan at the behest of America.
He demanded that a new election commission be set up with the consultation of the political parties.
The general secretary of the JI, Sindh, Rashid Naseem, Osama Bin Razi, Qamar Memon and others also spoke on the occasion.
