HYDERABAD, May 24: Except for providing emergency cover to the patients in all the government and private sector hospitals, the doctors and paramedical staff boycotted work here on Friday on the call of “The Action Committee for the Safe Recovery of Prof M. Hussain Leghari”. Even the private clinics remained closed.

Meanwhile, the general body meeting of the action committee held in the premises of the Civil Hospital, Hyderabad, on Friday expressed dismay over the inordinate delay in the recovery of Prof Leghari of the Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences (LUMHS).

The meeting was addressed by Prof Nazir Ashraf Laghari, Prof A. Bachayo, Prof Noor M. Memon, President PMA Sindh Dr. Noor M. Memon, Dr. Nek M. Jatoi, Dr Khair M. Narejo, Asghar Pathan, Shaukat Panhwar, and Shahid Chohan among others.

The speakers were critical of the attitude of the district administration and demanded a result-oriented action plan to recover the kidnapped professor. The atmosphere seemed extremely charged and the speakers proposed an early province-wide protest.
