Jihadi activists’list prepared

By Our Correspondent

THATTA, May 24: Thatta police have initiated an inquiry against some 84 activists of Jihadi groups following recommendation by agencies on the basis of their record of activities.

The police have been asked to keep vigilance on the enlisted activists and deal with them according to law, Dawn learnt through reliable official sources here on Friday.

Prominent among those listed are Maulana Abdul Razzaq, ex-president of the defunct Sipah-i-Sahaba (Sujawal), Hafeez Memon of the same party, Mansoor Shah Zaidi and Syed Asghar Shah of TJP, Ilyas Kumbhar and Aijaz Khwaja.

The list, however, contained names of some political activists, including a former deputy secretary of PPP, Sindh, Aijaz Ali Khwaja, who has never remained member of any religious parties since 1968.

Former MNA, Baboo Ghulam Hussain condemned the inclusion of PPP activists’ names in the Jihadi activists’ list. He alleged that the move was aimed at political victimisation and called for a fair and impartial inquiry.
