LARKANA, May 23: “We are actively engaged in finalizing strategies to launch two massive anti-dacoits operation in the interior of Sindh,” said Syed Kamal Shah, the Inspector General of Police, Sindh, while addressing a news conference on Thursday.

He said the ifs and buts of the operations had been discussed with the Balochistan Government as certain areas were adjacent to it and this time the focus will be on the dacoits hideouts in the thick jungles.

“We are fully determined to be proactive in action,” said the IGP, Sindh.

He said that a strong police force would definitely weaken the criminals.

All the additional inspector generals and district police officers have strictly been asked to ensure that the highways remained safe as any robbery incident would be defaming for the Sindh police.

Responding to a question, he said that action would be soon taken against the “black sheep in the police” as the information in this connection sought from all the DPOs was still pouring in.

“The black sheep are a blot on the police and their presence a big problem,” the IGP said.

He pointed towards the registration of cases against three police inspectors after a thorough inquiry.

Regarding major reshuffling of SHOs in Karachi, the IGP said it was not an unusual exercise, and added we believe in deeds, not in words.

The next inter-provincial meeting regarding law and order would be held in Karachi in June for it was a regular feature where the federal interior minister would preside. The motive behind this meeting is to evaluate the performance and further strengthen the bond of coordination among all the provinces.

The Inspector General of Police from all the four provinces along with their home secretaries would participate in the meeting.

He said all 356 police stations in Sindh province will get new vehicles and the incomplete katcha police stations will be completed.

The additional inspector general of police, Sukkur region, Nayyer Hasnain Haider, DIG Operations Syed Mushtaque Shah, and Acting DPO Larkana Abdul Ahad Sangri were present among others in the press conference.

LIFE IMPRISONMENT: The fifth additional sessions judge, Larkana, Mushtaque Ahmed Kalwar on Thursday awarded life imprisonment to two accused in a double murder case.

Both the accused, Dholiyo Kori and Atta Mohammed alias Niazi Kori, had killed a man, Shahnawaz, in the Karam Ali Gopang village. Later, they also killed his wife, Muradan.
