Trespassing: action against SHO, SI, ASI ordered

BAHAWALNAGAR, May 23: District and Sessions Judge Mian Akram Baito has ordered the local SP to take stern action against SHO Yousaf alias Pehlwan, SI Ghulam Mustafa, ASI Niaz and constable Arshad in a habeas corpus case.

Reports said Zarina bibi filed an application under 491 CrPc with the court, claiming police had kidnapped her relative Tasleem Husain after trespassing his home. She claimed the police also threatened her.

The court through bailiff recovered Husain from district police station and found no record of any case registered against him.

On Wednesday, the judge directed the SP to take stern action against the police officials involved.

ORDEAL: Residents in Dahranwala, some 35km from here, have been facing ordeal as the water supply to the locality has been suspended for the last six days.

Dawn learnt on Wednesday that all the three turbines had gone out of order and the residents’ repeated complaints had had no effect on the officials concerned.
