Convict hanged
GUJRANWALA, May 22: A condemned prisoner was hanged in the district jail on Wednesday.
Muhammad Nawaz of Kot Ladha village had killed his rival. The district and sessions judge awarded him death sentence on Sept 13, 1994. The Lahore High Court and the Supreme Court upheld the decision of the sessions court. The president also rejected his mercy appeal.
The body was handed over to his heirs. — Correspondent
