KARACHI, May 22: Jamaat Ahl-i-Sunnat has appealed to the City Government and civil and law-enforcement authorities to ensure peace during Eid Milad-un-Nabi processions and public meetings.

The party also highlighted the need for strict vigilance of sensitive spots to foil attempts to disturb law and order. Due to the heavy deployment of Indian army along the borders, Indian agency RAW and its agents were active in creating ugly situations within the country, they added.

The appeal has been made by the JAS chief, Maulana Syed Shah Turabul-Haq, while addressing a press conference in the party office on Wednesday.

He said that on Saturday, the main procession of Eid Milad-un- Nabi would start at 4pm from New Memon Masjid in Boulton Market and after passing through M.A. JInnah Road, reach Nishtar Park where Ulema would address the meeting.

Shah sahib said that his party had obtained a collective NOC to take out processions from different parts of the city and asked the organizers to collect a copy each.

He also appealed to the City Government, Corps Commander, DG Rangers, DIGs and CPO that in view of the recent incidents of terrorism in the city, law-enforcement personnel should be deployed heavily to keep vigil and foil any sabotage attempt.

Shah Turabul-Haq also called upon the City Nazim, Naimatullah Khan; Town Nazims, KESC and the KWSB, as well as other concerned departments, to repair and clean all routes of the processions.
