KARACHI, May 22: A meeting of the district benevolent fund board for non-gazetted employees held here on Wednesday which was presided over by board chairman and DCO Karachi Shafiqur Rehman Paracha.

The meeting informed that the board had received Rs36 million from the government, which would be distributed among more than three thousands retired employees of different departments, their widows under an equal distribution formula, besides entertaining applications for medical treatment, wedding expenses, and other necessities.

The distribution of funds will start from June 3 and the applicants have been asked to contact the benevolent fund’s office located at ex-commissioner Karachi office to complete the formalities for obtaining the fund.

Hashim Amin, EDO, community development was directed by the DCO to provide an all-out help to the employees and ensure that no worker suffered from any hardship in acquiring the fund and cheques should be given in the presence of at least two senior officers.—PPI
