LONDON, May 21: Pakistan and India are “very close” to renewed warfare over the disputed territory of Kashmir, Pakistan’s ambassador in London warned in an interview with the BBC on Tuesday.
The international community should be aware of the seriousness of the stand-off and exercise its influence to calm the situation, High Commissioner Abdul Kader Jaffer said. He laid the blame for the raised tension squarely on India.
Asked how close the two countries were to war, Jaffer said: “They are very close, and therefore it is necessary for all our friends to get together, bring sanity where there is total insanity.—dpa
