Four die in road accident

MUZAFFARABAD, May 21: At least four persons were killed and nine others were injured in another road accident here in less than 24 hours on Tuesday, police said.

A Muzaffarabad bound passenger jeep (PR- 8894) skidded off the narrow hilly road near Gajju Khokhran village, northwest of here, in the jurisdiction of Kahori police station at about 7am.

As a result, four people identified as Qalandar, son of Gul Zaman; Mohammad Naseer, son of Mohammad Bashir; Sadaqat, son of Mohammad Iqbal; and Shafiq, son of Ali Akbar, died on the spot.

Nine others were injured, some of them critically, and were admitted in the Combined Military Hospital, here.

They were identified as Manzoor and his wife Mastura Bibi; Begum Jan and son Ashraf; Tasvir; Ziafat; and driver Mohammad Ashraf.

On Monday, 16 people were killed and 46 injured in district Muzaffarabad while ten were killed and 15 injured in two road accidents in district Poonch.
