BRIDGETOWN (Barbados), May 17: Former West Indies opening batsman Gordon Greenidge has been added to the list of candidates for positions on the next panel of national selectors.

The 51-year-old, who was nominated by the Barbados Cricket Association, joins his former captain Viv Richards and ex-Test players Andy Roberts, Joe Solomon and Maurice Foster as possible replacements for current selectors Mike Findlay, Joey Carew and Joel Garner.

Greenidge scored 7,558 runs, including 19 centuries, in 108 Tests between 1974 and 1990, making him the third most prolific West Indies batsman in Test history.—Reuters
