SUKKUR, May 17: Two persons were shot dead by their rival tribesmen in Khanwahan town, near Halani, late Thursday. The victims were returning home after attending a religious ceremony when they faced the hostile tribesmen.

Syed Ghulam Nabi Shah and Zawar Shah were on way home with eight other people late in the night. A group of armed men appeared at the scene ordering the two to stay and the rest to go. Both the men were shot dead later. The gunmen were believed to be members of Khushik tribe.

Police were of the view that the attack coincided with an old enmity between the rival tribes.
