Protest march

LARKANA, May 17: Voicing anger over the acute shortage of irrigation water in Warah sub-division, the activists of various parties held a long march from Warah to Wagan town on Thursday.

The march was held under the auspices of the Jido Jihad Committee.

Sartaj Chandio of the Awami Tehrik, Abdul Razzak Abdi Lakho and Gul Inqlabi of the JUI led the march that originated with 50 people from Warah town. Later, people from various villages joined the marchers.

The protesters arrived at Wag-an where they staged a sit-in and blocked the Indus Highway for a short while demanding that irrigation water be provided to them.
