Azam Nagar win

KARACHI, May 16: A second half winner by Afzal Ahmad helped Azam Nagar edge past Sindh Muslim 2-1 in the All-Pakistan inter-club football tournament Thursday.

Babar Ali broke the ice with a 14th-minute effort for Azam Nagar. Shaukat Ali grabbed the equaliser just 60 seconds into the second half.

Two minutes later, Afzal nodded home the match-winning goal to earn a narrow victory.

Mauripur Baloch also scored a 2-1 victory over Jalal Murad, scoring twice after the break.

Abdul Rasheed scored the solitary goal for Jalal Murad in the 10th minute. Mohammad Younus put the match on an even keel in the 47th minute, while Sohail Ishaq fired in the second in the 61st minute.

Pak Asian edged out Young Greens 3-1 on a penalty shootout after the game ended in a 1-1 draw.

During the regulation time, Waseem Ahmad netted for Pak Asian in the 38th minute. Young Greens levelled through a 53rd-minute Mohammad Jawaid goal.
