ROME: Kim Clijsters earned a place in the Italian Open quarter-finals the hard way after she was pushed to three sets by Russia’s Tatiana Panova. The number three seed eventually won 6-3 6-7 6-1 despite being frustrated in the second set tiebreak. The Belgian was two points away from winning the match in straight sets when a suspect line call went against her at 5-5 in the tiebreak.
