SUKKUR, May 10: The district coordination officer, Sukkur, Nisar Ahmed Siddiqi, has said that the district government was making sincere efforts towards the promotion of quality education in the country.

He said this during his visit to the Iqra College of Information Technology here on Friday.

He said that talented students who desire to acquire quality education could approach the Public School, Sukkur, where they would be provided free ‘O’ and ‘A’ level studies.

He also assured the college management of providing proper guidance and other necessary assistance to the students in this regard.

The Director of IBA, Sukkur, Prof. Shah Mohammad Luhrani, and EDO IT Fareed Hussain Bhutto also spoke on the occasion.

HOUSES GUTTED: Thirteen houses of village Mansab Jakhrani, District Jacobabad, were gutted in fire on Friday.

The fire was reportedly caused during cooking in a hut. Apart from huts and household items, cattle was also burnt to death.

Three fire brigades were able to control the fire after a long struggle. About 50 persons, including women and children, have been rendered homeless.

INJURED: Four persons of a family were injured when their rivals attacked them in village Tando Hasil Pathan near Ghotki here on Friday.

The attackers also set on fire houses of Arabi Pathan and Mahal Pathan.

Those injured were identified as Hakim Pathan, his son Abdul Rehman Pathan, two of his relatives Shamman Pathan and Yousuf.
