KARACHI, May 10: The Sindh education department has sought comments and advice of the city Nazim on the constitution of the proposed board of governors of the D.J Sindh Government Science College to be headed by Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan.

In a letter to city Nazim Naimatullah Khan the department stated that Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan had shown keen interest in developing the infrastructure of the college and recently invested about Rs4 million for the construction of additional class rooms and a laboratory at the college.

Meanwhile, the students of the college held a demonstration in front of the college against the proposed denationalization of the college and constitution of the board of governors to run it. They were chanting slogans against the proposal and carrying placards.

They said that Dr Qadeer should establish fresh educational institutions instead of wresting control of the already established public colleges.—APP
