KARACHI: French experts may help probe blast: IGP

KARACHI, May 8: The Karachi Police may seek assistance of French anti-terrorism experts to investigate the suicide bomb attack that claimed 12 lives, including 10 Frenchmen technicians and engineers working on the Pak-France Augosta submarine project here.

“We may seek international help to investigate the case and it is likely that French people may also help us,” the Sindh Police Chief, Syed Kamal Shah said.

Talking at the site of the bomb blast, he said that the involvement of international terrorist groups in the suicide attack could not be ruled out.

About the involvement of Al-Qaeda in the blast, the IGP said that investigators were looking into that aspect as well.

He said that they were ascertaining the intensity of the bomb. The collection of technical details in this connection will take some time, he added.

“It would be premature to offer any comments at this very juncture”, he remarked further.

“We will investigate this and will share its outcome also,” the IGP further remarked.—APP
