Published May 8, 2002

KARACHI, May 7: A division bench of the High Court of Sindh, comprising Justice Mohammed Roshan Essani and Justice Sarmad Jalal Osmany, appointed on Tuesday the Nazir of the High Court to raid Preedy police station for the recovery of two alleged detainees.

The bench was hearing a habeas corpus petition filed by Yousuf Butt, father of alleged detainees Mohammed Asif Butt and Aamir Butt.

The petitioner alleged that his sons were taken into custody by the Preedy police on May 3, and since then they had been in unlawful confinement as they were not booked in any case.

The court, after hearing the counsel for the petitioner, appointed the Nazir of the SHC, Moinuddin Ahmed, to conduct a raid on the police station concerned for recovering the alleged detainees.— APP
