Youth axed to death

KASUR, May 6: A youth was murdered on Monday by his rivals over a land dispute at a nearby Mir Muhammad village, Raja Jang.

The dispute had been running between Asghar Ali and Shabbir alias Sheri for quite sometime. On Monday, Shabbir called out Zulfiqar, brother of Asghar, from his house. He took Zulfiqar to the fields where his accomplice Muhammad Nawaz was also present. The two culprits axed him to death and escaped.

Saddar police have registered a case.

GIRL KILLED: A young girl was killed when a gas cylinder burst at Basti Chiragh Shah here on Monday.

Salma Bibi was preparing tea when the gas cylinder suddenly exploded. She received critical burn wounds and was shifted to Mayo Hospital, Lahore, where she died.
